I am a designer that has worked with Boyer Building Corporation on a variety of projects.
I love my job! However, at times my job as interior designer can seem a little superficial, but then this time of year always rolls around and I am reminded that what I do is a big part of my clients’ lives and traditions. The comfort of home is never more evident than at this time of year. This type and level of comfort never just happens, it develops over the years. It’s like when you get a new pair of shoes and at first they look pretty, but are sort of uncomfortable. Then, you wear them over and over and they start to get that lived in patina that makes them your favorite shoes. I think a house is much the same. The nail polish spill in your daughter’s room, or the dented wall where your kids were wrestling or the stain on the ceiling from cookie dough (this one actually happened, and I get reminded of it every time I go home). When you invest (and by invest, I don’t only mean $) in your home, it will have lasting effects on you and those around you.
So by all means, curl up on the sofa, take a deep breath and enjoy your home this holiday season.
