A church is known by its parishioners as a gathering space for their community. The Peace Lutheran Church in Bloomington found their visitors gathering not only in their interior spaces, but outside as well. Although their space was adequate for their needs, they did realize that a more sheltered and aesthetically pleasing entrance to their front door was needed for those to gather upon entering and existing their worship space. Boyer built this custom beamed cedar awning to greet and shelter parishioners from Mother Nature’s various dispositions.
