This Shady Oak home remodel transformed a dated 1984 interior into a contemporary, welcoming space designed for a busy family. A key focus was the centrally located staircase—once heavy with oak and visually dated—which was completely reimagined into an award-winning architectural feature. Designed to feel modern and intentional, the staircase now serves as a true showstopper as guests enter the home and sets the tone for the rest of the remodel.
Taking design cues from the new staircase, Boyer Building also led the transformation of the kitchen. What was once a dark, wood-heavy space is now a bright, white kitchen featuring custom cabinetry, a refined layout, and abundant natural light. The updated kitchen flows seamlessly into the great room, enhancing both function and connection.
A new built-in dry bar was added just off the kitchen, creating a stylish transition before entering the newly refreshed dining space. The dining room was updated with fresh paint and classic wainscoting, adding warmth and detail while complementing the surrounding spaces. Together, these updates create a cohesive main floor that blends clean lines, thoughtful craftsmanship, and architectural impact—perfectly suited for modern family living and entertaining.
