I am on the Board of Directors for a local nonprofit which provides housing and care for severely disabled individuals, Homeward Bound, Inc. I was asked to join the Board due to my architectural and interior design background. Over the years I have designed new homes, additions and remodels of numerous HBI homes. A number of years ago we planned to build a new home in Golden Valley, I was given the task of recommending a general contractor, I talked to several contractors in the Western suburbs and one stood out as a good fit. They were genuinely interested in and believed in our mission. John Boyer and I met to discuss the project, I was so impressed by his experience and business approach. They have an “open book” policy on project costs, they worked diligently on keeping the project on budget. They have very high standards for construction, and their project managers are a joy to work with. Boyer and their subs finished on time and on budget. Boyer has just completed our 5th new house with them, always a positive experience. We would not work with anyone else.
