History
A Legacy of Craftsmanship
Boyer Building has been a premiere design-build remodeling and new home builder in the Twin Cities for over 70 years. It is a company steeped in a tradition of superior craftsmanship and service and knowledge that has been passed down over the generations.
Boyer Building was born from a long history of inspiration and sharing of skills and knowledge. Grandpa Joe Leo Boyer grew up on a farm in rural Wadena, MN in the early 1900’s. He was one of 14 children, served in WWI and built many farm / homestead buildings in the area. Over the years, he taught his carpentry skills and inspired his son, Joe Nicholas Boyer, from a young age to have a passion for building.
Joe N. started “Joe Boyer Building” in 1949 after serving in WWII Navy in the Construction Battalion (CB). He took great pride in the homes they built and acquired a solid reputation in the Twin Cities area for their quality workmanship and honesty. In turn, he shared his knowledge and skills with his sons, Bob, John, Joe C. and Paul, who joined the business in the 1970’s. In 1983, the name of the company was changed to “Boyer Building Corporation.”
The care that Boyer Building extends to their clients and projects also extends to the Boyer team and trade partners as well. It is a collaborative team that works to develop your project into a finished space! The company has long standing relationships with trade partners and suppliers. Boyer celebrates the skills and workmanship of their in-house carpenters, many of whom have been with the company for many years.
